In this month’s Member Spotlight, we’re excited to introduce Mr. Richard Malpeli, the Founder and Managing Director of Frontline Recruitment Thailand, who has mastered the art of connecting top talent with the right opportunities. Mr. Richard will tell us more about himself and hid bold take on talent acquisition in Thailand.
Let’s start with the basics. Who is Frontline Recruitment Thailand and what is your role in the company?
I am the Founder and Managing Director of Frontline Recruitment Thailand. Our team consists of 10 people already and they are some of the best in their field. We are a different kind of recruitment company as we really try to bring transparency and authenticity back in recruitment. We treat our clients with respect and we spend a lot of time understanding their company culture as well as the challenges they face in their hiring processes. We want to keep things simple, honest and efficient.
Can you tell us a little about the history of Frontline Recruitment Thailand? When was it founded, what sparked it, etc.?
Frontline Recruitment Thailand was founded in February 2024. So we are still very new in the market. But we have already grown into a team of 10 people. Frontline is my third recruitment company, as I have previously founded and sold two other recruitment companies in Thailand. Everything I have learned from my recruitment career is Frontline. I have managed to get some of the absolute best recruiters in Thailand to join our team and they are all people I have previously worked with within the recruitment industry. So Frontline is really my blood, sweat and tears, and I am very proud of the growth and achievements we have accomplished in such a short time.
Who would benefit most from your services? What industries or job roles do you specialize in?
We specialize in Technology, Logistics & Supply Chain and Sales & Marketing. We also cater to other fields but these are our main fields.
In addition to that, we are highly specialized in senior and executive roles. Companies that are growing rapidly or undergoing a substantial change within the organization can benefit a lot from our services. It can be really hard and time consuming finding the best talent in the market if the hiring team is small and overloaded with vacant positions. That’s where we jump in to help and serve as an extension to the hiring team.
Can you share a memorable success story where you helped a company or candidate find their perfect match?
I found a candidate for a TA Director role that was open 8 months before I spoke with the hiring manager when we were finally engaged. But then a 7 round interview process. Plus, they had interviewed everyone in the market. But I found someone who I knew and wasn’t actively looking but got him to apply for the job just from our networking lunches.
What’s the most challenging placement you’ve worked on, and how did you overcome the obstacles?
It’s hard for me to pick just one single case, so I’d rather just mention how we overcome challenges when finding very unique talent for very specific roles. We always utilize our network here at Frontline. We are a team full of well-connected people and when we work together on a specific role we always find the needle in the haystack. So by combining our extensive networks as recruiters, we are able to find the talent that seems almost impossible to find.
What advice would you give companies looking to improve their hiring process?
To improve the hiring process depends on various factors. But most importantly I would always suggest companies to consider utilizing the support and help they can get from recruiters like us, when they struggle to find enough qualified candidates. Building a relationship with a recruitment company can add tremendous value to any hiring team. Market trends, passive candidates, networking and support on aligning expectations between the hiring entity and candidates.
What’s next for your business? Do you have any exciting projects or goals on the horizon?
As we are still a start-up despite having a team full of experience within recruitment, our main goal right now is just to grow the business and establish long-term relationships with our clients. We also aim at developing more strategic partnerships that can bring value to both our company and our business partners.

I like spending time with my wife and children, traveling, nice food, and watching Wrexham.
